About Me

My photo
Crystal Kang
I'm a journalism, pre-law student attending the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. I've developed a fondness for truth in writing, and the purest form of that informative and impartial piece can be created through the realm of journalism. As for my specific concentration, this blog will focus on First Amendment rights and what those mean to a journalist. As a journalist working with the University newspaper, I've found these constitutional rights to be an impetus to continue in this high and honorable calling to devote ones life to ethical journalism. I'm entitled to express an original idea in the form of writing, and you, the audience, have the privilege to critique and comment on what I write. You do not have to agree with anything that is written, and I do not have to cater to what is popular because that is the beauty of the freedom of speech. Unpopular speech is speech that needs to be protected, according to John Stuart Mill. I'm a firm believer in continuing to study and grasp the definition of the freedom of speech and press as formulated by our Founding Fathers.
